Earlier this week I completed the first draft of the latest book in the Skidian Chronicles universe, tentatively titled The Island. I am pretty pleased with the effort given I have a more than full time day job and other interests to pursue. I started work in mid August and took a month off over Christmas. I also typed the first draft instead of writing long hand. Those of you who have witnessed my typing will be interested to know I only destroyed one keyboard in the process!
To celebrate this milestone, I am making electronic versions of the first three books in the series free to download from Amazon Kindle from March 31 (US Pacific time) for three days. Click on the links to download the books: Skid, The First Chronicle, The Second Coming, The Lifeboat.
So far this masterpiece comes in at about 155000 words. Based on past history the word count will balloon considerably, because at this point in the process the manuscript is basically a big brain dump which needs to be shaped and refined with multiple revisions. A process of organic evolution which will take place over the next few months.
After a few days of resting my brain I will begin the long process of revision and am hoping to have the book in the hands of the editor later this year for publication in early 2020.
