The importance of getting noticed

FRONTCover-AMAZONI head an interesting interview on the radio this morning with Linda Tirado. Tirado became accidentally famous when a blog post she wrote went viral. The theme of the post was the low wage economy and the plight of the working poor in the United States. One of the key points she made was that in many cases success is a matter of luck, being in the right place at the tight time, getting noticed by someone that can make a difference.

Great reviews on Amazon are what are going to help me sell my targeted 3000 books by Christmas. Like this recent one for the First Chronicle.

“I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this book. I am not usually a sci fi fan but the the book cover piqued my interest and I was not disappointed by what I found. I don’t subscribe to some of the themes that the book explores. For example the danger of ignoring until it is too late the signs man’s impact on the environment because I don’t subscribe to these theories. However, that didn’t stop me enjoying the book, the characters are real caricatures and I thought their interactions were hilarious. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.”
